Welcome to Lodge of Fidelity #231!

The Lodge of Fidelity is one of most ancient lodges in Canada. The lodge was established in 1870 in the City of Ottawa in the Province of Ontario. It is currently an active lodge in District 1 of the City of Ottawa.  It is a place where every mason can start his long journey in masonry, live and learn, develop his sense of self, and shape his own social and philosophical reality. The questions we ask are: Where are we from? Where are we currently? Where are we going?

The Masonic society is a society of men who prize honour and virtue above the external advantages of rank and fortune. Freemasonry is a beautiful system of morality, veiled in allegory and illustrated by symbols.

First and foremost, Freemasonry first asks that a man believe in a Supreme Being as Freemasonry accepts men from all backgrounds no matter their religion, Arts, Music, or Science they practice. We, as Freemasons, are not permitted to solicit membership as the service clubs do. Our philosophy is to accept good men and make them better men by encouraging them to seek their personal advancement in the knowledge of themselves. Every mason sets an example at home, at work and in the community in which he resides. Masonic qualities for our social responsibility are practiced within and outside of the lodge.  Belonging to the Masonic society is for me a privilege, a privilege to share the important part of our lives with men of every creed, race, nationality and cultural background.

In conclusion it can be said that Freemasonry offers fraternal fellowship of a higher quality than any Order could possibly offer. We are proud to be masons and proud to belong to the Lodge of Fidelity #231.
